EPIC or Carnival Liberty for nightlife during spring break?

I'm down to both of these ships for a spring break cruise in March. Which would be the best for nightlife and partying during the March spring break. The Liberty is about $100 more than the EPIC.

I'm a single 25 year old male, looking for the ship with the most college age singles during this time.

Thanks

It has been several years since I was a spring-break student. However, I learned that going for the more economical option to similar distinations will better meet your objectives.

Since most students don't have a lot of excess money, the less costly ones will be a better draw. You will likely find the less expensive option more fitting and more fun for the 25 year old crowd.

Way back when Ft. Lauderdale was the place to go for spring break, myself and many others went to Cozumel for much less cost. Back then, it was cheaper to go to Coz than Ft. Partydale. We had much more fun down there than our friends in Florida. Have fun and be safe!

The Epic has areas on the ship geared towards singles. Their single cabins are awesome too, check them out online if you get a chance!! I would choose the EPIC for sure. Tons to do on the ship too!!

Thanks so much for the replies. If it was just a decision between the two ships I would definetly choose the EPIC. I'm just a little worried there won't be many younger people on the EPIC.

Has anyone experienced both Norwegian and Carnival during March spring break?

Maarten,

It sounds as if your priority is meeting singles in the 25 year-old demographic. If so, why would you select a cruise? I have several friends that have sailed multiple lines during the spring break time. The number of "spring-breakers" (age 19 to 26) is very low compared to the total passengers on board. There are many parents that bring their kids on spring-break time cruises since many elementary, middle and high schools have a mid-term break these days. My sister and husband are taking their 3 kids on Carnival this coming March.... They did the same last year too and said there weren't many singles on board for the night-life.

Perhaps others could offer better first-hand advice since my primary cruising has been in mid-winter. I can only offer what my sister and friends have told me about sailing Carnival during mid-March.

If you're interested in the cruise itself, perhaps making a selection based on the ship offerings and destinations would be more beneficial. Go for it and have some fun!

I can think of several locations during spring break time to meet that age group and none would be on a cruise. My business partner's son went to Cancun last spring and had a great time. It also cost him less than a cruise. Best wishes.

Thanks for the reply Flatland.

I've done the all inclusive land vacations just about every year. I'm travelling the week of March 5th when it's mostly college students off for spring break and not younger kids.

I'm choosing to cruise because I love gambling and cruises offer great casinos at sea unlike an all inclusive land vacation. I prefer not to drink watered down horrible alcohol that is offered on land vacations. The food on land AI's are horrible for the most part, where cruises have many more options with better food. I love to visit different ports and being on the water.

I'm aware that there will be a small percentage of the cruise that are college aged but i'm wondering what percentage. I know the EPIC can hold almost 5000 people sailing full. If even 5 percent of the passengers are college aged that would leave 250 spring break college students on the cruise which wouldn't be far off a lot of the land all inclusives.

Is that a resonable number from people with previous experiences. More or less spring break college students?

Thanks

My last 3 cruises (2 being Carnival and 1 being Princess) have been during my spring break trips while in college. Carnival does have some of the spring breakers on the ship. You can always find people around the pool during the day and the disco at night. I know of people that went on the Liberty last March for their spring break and had a blast. They met a bunch of other spring breakers. Although I just graduated last spring, I recently planned another cruise on the Freedom the same time you're planning on going on yours. It's a reunion with a few of my college friends :)

Can't speak first hand in regards to NCL, but the senior class at my college one year had offered a spring break trip on one of those ships.

Hearing (around campus) from people that have done cruises during spring break, I feel that Carnival ships are the more popular choice between the two. ..but that's just my personal experience.

Hope that helps!
