Canadian Rockies pre/post cruise tour

Has anybody taken this pre/post cruise tour. We are planning to arrive in Calgary for the pre cruise bus/train tour which ends in Vancouver. We then board the Century for the 7 day Alaska cruise.

 

Is this tour worth the price? How is the bus part of the tour.

Never done that trip but the Rockies are spectacular and seeing them by train would be worth it. The prices for that alone are usually quite steep, so even if you wanted to do it yourself you would pay a lot.

We are doing this trip in June ..flying out on 4th for the first leg touring the rockies by bus/train. Pick up the Century on the 12th (I think) Really looking forward to it. When are you planning to go?

We leave on July 19th and the cruise part starts on July 24th - our 40th wedding anniversary.

Everyone we know who has taken the train ride raves about it, but if you want to save a lot of money it is still a beautiful trip if you do it yourself with a rental car. A big advantage of doing it that way, in addition to significant cost savings, is that you have the freedom to make a lot of scenic stops along the way and set your own schedule, which you can't do if you take the train.

Have done this trip many times. It's simply awesome & Fantastic. The train travels the Rockies in daytime only, you don't mis a thing. Scenery is heavenly.Service onboard is superb.You'll love this.

It's expensive; yes, but worth it
