califgary Posted January 6, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2011 We've done the 5:30 seating before - The way it worked for us was that our dining room was one of the two open seating venues (the one on the plaza level). The dining room opened at 5:30 there was a line for the anytime people and then one for the assigned time people (after the first day we could just walk right in as we knew where our table was). There was an area for all the assigned seating people, once we finished, they sat the anytime people in our area. We had the same table and wait staff every evening just like fixed dining seating we were just in the room with other anytime diners. Hope this helps! I wish all the ships operated with assigned seating in AT dining. The Grand & Crown last month didn't take reservations for anytime dining until 7:45 PM which cause long lines waiting to get into the DR every night.
