We will be in Bermuda for 57 hours and would love to know what not to miss and thing that are easy to get to for two old (not in the best condition) people. :D We want to do some of the beaches, which are easy walks?

Thanks for your help,

Marty

What are your interests? Are you interested in history? Exploring local gardens? Laying at a beach and soaking up the sun all day?

Horseshoe Bay is one of the prettier beaches, unfortunately, like most beaches on South Shore, it is a bit of a walk to get to them. Horseshoe Bay does have a shuttle which runs people up and down the hill so that would be your best bet for an accessible beach - just be sure to get there early and leave around mid-afternoon because he might not be there later in the afternoon and it's a long hike back up.

Dockyard is pretty walkable and I understand there is a train that shuttles you around if you're not up to the walk. St Georges is pretty walkable as well, although it is a bit of a hike to Fort St Catherine. If you plan on going there, either catch a cab from the Square or hitch a ride on the Mini Bus (believe it picks up from the Square). The City of Hamilton is walkable as well although most of the shops there can also be found in Dockyard and St Georges.

You could also hire one of the blue flag cabs to take you on a tour of the island. The rate is $40/hour for a minimum of 3 hours. If you find another couple from your roll call to join you, it works out to $10/person per hour - good deal for Bermuda. Your driver will take you wherever you want to go and will even wait for you while you go to the beach or have lunch. Might be a good way to spend your first day - get a good overview of the island, then revisit some of your favourites from the previous day.

Hope this helps - happy to answer any other questions you may have!
