How far to private excursions

Hi,

I just booked with Victor Bodden and it says we have to walk up over a hill to meet him as they are not allowed near the Carnival cruise dock to pick people up. I'm just wondering if anyone can give me an idea of how far a walk it is.

DH and I were in Roatan in April last year and did a private snorkeling tour. Once you get off the ship, you walk a little way and there are shops and covered pavillions. Walk through those and there will be people asking you if you want a taxi, etc. Tell them you are booked with whomever you are and they will tell you where to walk to get them. I'm sure your tour operator is well known and the native Hondurans seem to help each other. It is a bit of a walk up a hill but nothing that is really strenuous. For the life of me, I can't understand why private tour operators can't come right to the pier area. BTW, when you return, they should be able to bring you right back to the pier...at least that is what happened for us. Hope this helps.

snorkel, thank you for that thread... I am relieved now as we have my mom with us who can walk but will be in pain if we do too much so I will gladly pay the 2.00 taxi to meet the tour...
