CarolZaga Posted January 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2011 My husband who is disabled, and I are considering booking a handicapped accessible cabin with a balcony on the Constellation. The only HA cabins available for the cruise we are interested in are right next to the mid-ship elevators. For anyone who has stayed in one of these cabins, can you tell me if there is a lot of noise being next to the elevators? Any other information regarding these cabins would be very much appreciated.:)
judyfssw Posted January 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2011 Carol, you don't say which ship you'll be on but I can answer about the M class ships. We did not find that it was extra noisy. As a matter of fact, we were very happy with our staterooms. The bathroom is very accessible but I would suggest that you bring an over the door shoe rack to put your toiletries in. There is no space under the sink so it allows a wheelchair to access the sink.
BBsails Posted January 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2011 I wouldn't hesitate to book near the elevators. Unless there's a rowdy crowd waiting for one, you won't hear noise.
runnerandme Posted January 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2011 We have been in 7139 on Summit and Infinity. We did not have any noise issues at all. We liked the location. One of the HC cabins on seven does not have a sofa, I think it is 7141. 7143 was a nice cabin also.
LAH718 Posted January 9, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 9, 2011 I wouldn't hesitate to book near the elevators. Unless there's a rowdy crowd waiting for one, you won't hear noise. Absolutely agree. I've been right across from the elevators on C class and M class ships and noise was never an issue. Linda

If you wish to give us specific cabin numbers, Id be glad to comment on them, if I know anything specific. Enjoy your Cruise.
CarolZaga Posted January 9, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted January 9, 2011 Thanks everyone for all of your assistance! The ship is Celebrity's Constellation "Connie" and the cabin number is 7139 on Vista Deck. With all of the positive responses, we are booking the cabin. Again, thanks so much!:)
runnerandme Posted January 10, 2011 #8 Share Posted January 10, 2011 7139 looks like this. The mirror is against the wall facing the entry door, not slanted as in this picture
