We just came back from Carnival Victory (western caribbean) last week and are ready to book another cruise. We are looking to have a family of 20 going in Dec. 05 Would we get any good rates for so many people going? Does anyone know what the largest room is on Carnival Victory, and how many people it will sleep? Trying to save some money.:)

With Carnival, you need to book 8 cabins with at least 2 people in them each.

Sometimes the "past passenger rate" is better than the "group rate". After that, you receive one free berth in the catagory that has been booked the most.

With the group rate, you don't get to pick the specific cabin (only catagory). But, you can negotiate perks (free upgrade for all, private party, etc.).

Our family plans on doing an Alaskan cruise for my in-laws 40th wedding anniversary and this is what I was told. The date hasn't opened up yet (June 2006), so I haven't seen this information in action, so to speak.

What you're told and what happens often can be quite different. :(
