cruisn4bruisn Posted January 12, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2011 We are looking to cruise in February 2012 and taking our son who will be 4. He doesn't go to daycare as my wife is currently unemployed and doesn't spend a whole lot of time away from us. He loves playing with kids his age but doesn't get the opportunity that often. I have a fear of him not wanting to go to the kids area or getting there and having fun and then realizing we aren't there and start crying for us. I was wondering how adventure ocean usually handles that and if it gets bad, do they try to find you? Thanks for your input.
bevomom Posted January 12, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2011 They have pagers for any parent who request one. The staff also knows things such as your dining table number, show seating, etc... My guess is that Guest Services could look at when/where you last used your sea pass card as well to find you in a bar, casino, etc if there was an urgent situation or emergency. I hope your family has a blast! Happy Sailing!
cb at sea Posted January 12, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2011 For the younger kids, they will usually have a pager of some sort....And, you can "check-in" every once in awhile and see if he's ready to go. If he cries for a little bit, it'll be ok....some kids are like that, but they get over it quickly, once they see everyone else having a good time! Try not to put your 'nervousness' on him....if you act like it's a "big deal", he'll definitely get "clingy"!
fisherhum Posted January 13, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2011 When you check them in they ask where you will be. If there is a problem they will try to call you there if they can...ie if you said you would be in the gym or in you cabin. Obviously some places are more difficult to find you in. I have called up to the kids club before when the kids were younger just to check in. This way I could find out how they were doing without them seeing me. cruisn4bruisn Posted January 13, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted January 13, 2011 Thanks for the tips. Usually once he gets into it he will be ok but we've had times like in church where he wouldn't stop crying and then came and got us. Having a pager would definately make me feel better. Thanks again.
