2Xayear Posted February 28, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2005 We are a group of 4 (2 of which are new to snorkeling) looking for your recommendations. I have had little success with internet searches as very few offer webs sites. Anyone have any thoughts or recomendations?
10X Posted March 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2005 Usually a ship's excursion will include a trip to Caracas Bay. The tour description might not mention the bay by name but it will speak of a small sunken tugboat. That is a great place to snorkel. The water is very clear, calm, and lots of small fish. It is accessible only by boat so you might have to go through the ship's excursion desk.
WHITELINEN Posted March 18, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 18, 2005 Out of the five ports we stopped at and did some snorkeling... the sunken tugboat was the best!!!! A ton of fish to see. My teenage boys even found some empty world war two ammunition shells buried in the water/ sand next to the rocks..... Junior high son read "The Cay" this fall in school and it talks about when this island had troops on it etc...... He felt pretty special to say that he had snorkeled in the same water. Take the morning tour, have lunch back at the ship and then walk into town. Check out the floating boat market place..... interesting to say the least.... but cool to walk around the downtown....
