carseat for toddler?

When you are being transported around the island, what do you do about small children (22mos) who, in the US, would be required to be in a carseat, and really are too small to sit with an adult belt? Lap child? Bring a carseat with you? Thanks!

(I'm posting this question in all 3 ports of call in case local laws are different.)

Your child will seat on your lap. No car seat required in the car or bus.

Required or not, it's safer to use a seat. Anyone have any experience with trying to use one on an excursion through the cruise line?

I'm sort of counting on putting my daughter in a front pack carrier and using my own seat belt. Not knowing that the transport is like, I'd hate to get on a bus and realize a car seat just won't fit. Same plan in Jamaica.

 

However, when we rent a car in Cozumel I'll take the carseat with us.

Don't worry everyone is driving about 20 MPH and there is no highways.
