hrabba Posted January 17, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2011 My family will be going on our very first cruise in March, and we will be staying in a family suite category AJ aboard the Star. Do we qualify for suite privileges and what are these perks? Thanks!

faymuiheng Posted January 17, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2011 It has all benefits of a suite. Similar to Penthouse suite. I booked one myself, and know first hand. Category AJ is at best a deluxe balcony/mini suite category cabin. No suite benefits.
Zimomiller Posted January 17, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 17, 2011 Wow, thanks for the correction. I had read on these boards that there were several categories including AJ "family suites" and they were not eligible for full suite benefits. faymuiheng Posted January 18, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 18, 2011 I did too, but then I did what every CC person does when not sure, I called NCL direct. Since then, the website is more clearer. It now states that it DOES include concierge and butler service. nice eh?
amy feigen-pilott Posted January 24, 2011 #8 Share Posted January 24, 2011 The upsell fairy called today and I went from an oceanview to an AJ Suite. Can someone prepare me for what to expect? What do the butler and concierge do? Is there a charge to eat breakfast and/or lunch in Cagneys? I was quick to take the AMAZING deal... but now I want to know more:D
KandJCruising Posted January 24, 2011 #9 Share Posted January 24, 2011 The basics: No charge for breakfast and lunch at Cagney's. Butler to take care of any in-room issues/requests (re-stock espresso maker, deliver in-room meals, evening snacks, etc.) Concierge to take care of outside room requests (dinner reservations, show seating, priority debarkation, etc.) Butlers and concierge aren't included in DSC, so tip according to your discretion/use of their services (numerous threads on CC on this topic). The AJ suite was awesome, and we'd definitely book another one if we find a Star itinerary we like. Loved the views and the espresso machine. Springwater21 Posted January 26, 2011 #13 Share Posted January 26, 2011 if you look on NCL's website, near the bottom, click on suites and villas, all the perks are listed..and they look great! We are in the AH-deck 12 penthouse with balcony on feb 5th, the amenities list is very nice. Dona
