luggage storage

After disembarking from our cruiseship, my family and I (a total of 8 people) will have an entire day to tour Honolulu. Our flight home is at 10:00pm. We are needing to store our luggage for the day. Any ideas of what we can do with our luggage? Thanks.

I think Aloha Towers has a service, and some cruiselines will send your bags on through to the airport for you ($25 for 2 bags - most convenient, but likely the most expensive option). You may also want to consider renting cars/vans so you can store your luggage and have transportation.

When we disembarked on 12/4, there was a luggage storage service inside the cruise terminal where you pick up your bags after disembarking. I don't know the costs since we did not need the service but I definitely remember it being there while I was waiting for hubby to get our bags.

Another option is to do what we did and rent a car. You can keep your luggage in the car as you sightsee. Just make sure you rent a car that can store your luggage without people being able to see it from the outside as I heard that car break-ins are not uncommon in touristy parking lots. We upgraded our car for this reason and made sure all our suitcases would fit in the trunk.

If you booked 'Are Sea' the cruise line may store it for you. Princess for example let the cruisers 'rest' in a hotel ballroom with their luggage. We toured, and the returned for our luggage.

This was several years ago however.
