Rare irun5k Posted January 18, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2011 Hi all, I am looking for some concrete info on Adventure Ocean dining- the program where your children can have dinner with their Adventure Ocean mates, facilitated by the Adventure Ocean counselors. I've searched high and low, and it *looks* like this would be offered 3 times on a 7 night cruise, but I am looking for a recent confirmation of this. Also, in case it differs by ship, I am interested in the Freedom and the Allure. If you happen to know which nights, that is even better! Thanks in advance! Littlebrookfarm Posted January 18, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2011 When we've sailed it's been offered twice on 7 night cruises, I think during the 2 formal nights. They took them to Johnny Rockets on all of our sailings but we haven't been on Allure or Oasis so I can't tell you what the options would be for those ships. Rare irun5k Posted January 18, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted January 18, 2011 Thanks! I've been digging deep and found someone mentioning that it was offered every night except the first and the last on their FOS cruise. There are also a couple other references to it being offered 2 nights or 3 nights. I'm guessing it changes- one person was saying it might be different depending on the time of year (e.g. holidays/spring break vs. summer, etc.) If anyone else has any reference points to offer, it would be much appreciated! mibarron Posted January 18, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 18, 2011 On the Oasis, my son (age 6) had dinner with the counselors and friends almost every night, except for 3, which I made him eat with me because I missed him. LOL!! But if I wanted to, he could have spent every dinner, except the first dinner with them. Not sure how the Freedom is, but I hope they have something similar to this when we go in August. wishtdream Posted January 19, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 19, 2011 We cruised Freedom 10/17/2010 The days they offered Adventure dining it was listed in the kids compass I scanned the kid compasses and uploaded them. These are the links - a word of caution the files are large and take a minute or two to load even on a fast connection. http://home.comcast.net/~fampolozzo/...fo10172010.PDF http://home.comcast.net/~fampolozzo/...ay10172010.PDF http://home.comcast.net/~fampolozzo/...ay10182010.PDF http://home.comcast.net/~fampolozzo/...ay10192010.PDF http://home.comcast.net/~fampolozzo/...y101202010.PDF http://home.comcast.net/~fampolozzo/...ay10212010.PDF http://home.comcast.net/~fampolozzo/...ay10222010.PDF http://home.comcast.net/~fampolozzo/...ay10232010.PDF

Rare irun5k Posted January 21, 2011 Author #9 Share Posted January 21, 2011 I finally heard back something from RCI on this, I figured I'd post it below in case it helps anyone. It is sort of strange to me that the lunch option is $7.95, when dinner and the rest of Adventure Ocean is inclusive. Anyone know if they do a special craft or something after lunch? ------------- On selected nights, our youth staff host dinners in our casual restaurants. It is a great opportunity for kids to eat with other kids and for parents to enjoy a meal alone. Dinner: 6:00 pm-7:00 pm (on certain nights of each cruise) Aquanauts, Explorers, and Voyagers: 3 day cruise = 1 dinner 4 - 6 day cruise = 2 dinners 7 day cruise = 3 dinners 8 - 9 day cruise = 4 dinners 10 - 11 day cruise = 5 dinners Teens: 3 – 6 night cruise = 1 dinner 7 – 8 night cruise = 2 dinners 9 - 11 night cruise = 3 dinners 12 - 14 night cruise = 4 dinners Lunch and Play: $7.95 fee per child for Adventure Ocean supervised lunch and activities, available on at sea days. crusinmama06 Posted January 21, 2011 #10 Share Posted January 21, 2011 Irun5k - they started the lunch option as a "paid service" only because they used to shut down AO during lunch time on Sea Days. In the past, the AO staff got a break during lunch time. Well...parents wanted the option to leave the kids at AO during lunch on sea days -- so the AO lunch for $7.95 was born. ;) The dinners were always free. Cool, thanks for the explanation- we'll probably try it at least once, it might be fun for him!
