Bridge Maven Posted January 18, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2011 Have your cruising preferences changed in recent years due to a change in life style such as getting married, getting divorced, having children, becoming empty nesters, becoming grandparents, etc.
Tink3 Posted January 18, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2011 Yes....I am an empty nester now and my husband and I are able to try more things such as giving a cruise a try again. Our last time we cruised was approximately 25 years ago before kids.....we have always gone away a few times a year but always with the kids. This past Christmas was our last family vacation together as my oldest is in the working world now....so....who knows....after this cruise maybe we will be doing many more...if my DH doesn't get seasick once again. weegl Posted January 18, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 18, 2011 When we were just married, we sailed Celebrity...young kids and family, we did Disney...kids got a little older, now with RCCL. We just sailed Eclipse over Thanksgiving with the kids and family. It was fun, but in my opinion still to mature for the kids. Thus, we are back to RCCL until they get a little older. bhughey Posted January 19, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2011 When we really started "getting into cruising" we sailed exclusively with RCI... but over the years, RCI has really changed their marketing - targeting families, kids, etc (all that dreamworks, shrek stuff is a total turn-off for me). I am 38, husband is 45 - no kids, so X just fits our lifestyle better.
