Locals help please

Recommended Posts

We are arriving on the Quick shuttle around 5:30-6:00 pm on May 13,11. We are staying at the Marriott Pinnacle. We are taking a cruise the next morning on the NCL Star. We drop off luggage at the hotel and questions: will we have daylite time to see Stanley Park (some of it) how to get there, cheaply, and what system can we use to travel around to see the town, open bus, trolley, ect. Thanks

``will we have daylite time to see Stanley Park (some of it) how to get there``

It will be light until about 9PM - most of the popular attractions and views are on the eastern part of the park which is closest to the city core - Your hotel is only a block from the seawall that circles the downtown peninsula and leads into Stanley Park so if you like to walk that would be one option - you will also see the park when you cruise out the next day - the 19 trolley bus leads into the park and is a block away on Pender - don`t beleive that the Park shuttle will be operating that early in the season - another possibility is to treat yourself and take the house and carriage ride around the park.

These are some thoughts - I am sure that many of the other locals will be along with some suggestions as well.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Dennis

You could also have dinner in the park.

Although with your limited time you might want to do dinner at the top of the tower in a revolving restaurant. Yes there is one accross the street from your hotel but skip that one as it is so low that you have virtually no view - I would suggest either the Top of the Tower which is at the top of the Harbour Center in Gastown about 6 blocks from your hotel. or the top of the Landmark Hotel on Robson Street again about the same distance from your hotel.

This is a great way to get a birds eye view of Vancovuer is 1 hour while enjoying dinner. I personnaly prefer the view from the Top of the Tower.
