Hi there suzy,

haven't been on the Dream yet (we are booked for a week at easter) but have done 2 previous crusies on destiny and as far as I am aware kidzone is pretty much the same across the fleet. Some of this you may already know:

Kidzone is open to 3-12 yr olds, there are 2 groups - 3-8yrs and 9-12yrs, and the 3-8yrs are split into 2 parts (tots and team) within the session - the older 9-12's are called 'tribe' - there are also some teen activities that take part on deck and in the bars mostly.

There are several sessions scheduled throughout the day, usually 1 or 2 for each age group, they dont run at the same time, so if you have siblings that fall into seperate groups and you want them to attend the same sessions, they will usually let the older sibling join the tots and team session if its not fully subscribed, but not the younger go up to the tribe session. (This is to do with staff:child ratios - the ratios are smaller for younger children as they need more care and attention) there are a few sessions they do that are for all ages - these you usually have to book a place the day before.

if its a busy week with lots of kids on board they may operate a sign up policy where the next days activities go on the board outside kidzone the night before and you have to go along and sign up your child, once all the available spaces are filled then they wont take any more.

some of the things they do include: pyjama party, pizza and movie night, art/creative sessions, breakfast club, games on deck, show night with back stage visit, visit to the bridge, autograph hunt (staff autographs), end of week disco.

When you reach your cabin there will be a letter addresed to your children inviting them to the registration session, which is usually on the arrival evening or the morning after. If you dont attend this session or register your child they can not attend kidzone.

All the staff we have had have been very professional and friendly and full of enthusiasm - as a child care worker myself I am very aware of what they should/should not be doing and how they are performing and I had no complaints what so ever and have both times recommended one of the team for the 'awards' at the end of the holiday. Our son loves kidzone and attends every session he possibly can (he was 9 on our first cruise, 10 on the second and will be 11 in april) he made a lot of friends and it really made his holiday even better - and gave us an hour or 2 every day where we could relax safe in the knowledge he was being well looked after and having fun.

outside of kidzone there were all sorts of family entertainments - quizes in the lounge, game shows on deck, discos, the shows every night are fabulous, and the kids always love them. There was a kids show one afternoon with a magician on one of our cruises, and kidzone do a special kids night at the one of the nightly shows where they have reserved front row seating and a back stage pass.

On Destiny they have lots of board games in one of the bars where you can go along and play a few games for an hour or so.

and of course theres always the pool!

Im sure your children will have a ball :D
