Our son lives in China so we go out there every year.

We obtain our visa from the Chinese Consulate in Edinburgh where we hand over our passports and application forms and pick up the visas 3 days later. The visa is valid for 3 months and allows you to enter more than once.

P&O might do the job for you but they will charge a lot more. Your nearest consulate will be Manchester.

Jan 2010 We went on line, down loaded the forms, arranged an appointment and took the train into Manchester.

They (2) cost a total of £120

DW returned to Manchester to collect them.

We had single entry visa despite arriving in Beijing and sailing to Shanghai.

The reason they were accepted was because we went direct to Shanghai from Beijing. Otherwise it is a double or multiple entry visa you required. We travelled with Princess and they guided us and were excellent in obtaining our other visas whilst on board.
