macrush53 Posted January 31, 2011 #26 Share Posted January 31, 2011 Love Pacific Heights. Glad to hear it's not gone totally to steakhouse. Were the buffet seating and lineups improved at all?[/quoteWas that the 4 day cruise or the 7 day western carribean. I am looking for the dailies. stubbornoldowl Posted January 31, 2011 #27 Share Posted January 31, 2011 I see in the press release that they have updated the decor in the suites. What about the other cabins? - any one been in an outside since the refurb? Thanks.

Globaliser Posted February 1, 2011 #29 Share Posted February 1, 2011 We're talking about the Sun, and there is no Cagney's on the Sun. I think making Pacific Heights into a Cagney's would have been preferable to making it into a Brazilian steak house. ... but we thought "East Meets West Steakhouse" was comprable to Cagneys. No?Correct. East Meets West is Cagney's in all but name. The name is a hangover from when the space was used for something else. So there wasn't exactly a need to have two copies of Cagney's on board.
jdvmd Posted February 1, 2011 #30 Share Posted February 1, 2011 When we were in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Brazilian steakhouse we ate at was the equivalent of $35 per person, with no drinks, and dessert wasn't included either, although the awesome salad bar was. Does Moderno have waiters bringing around various meats on swords and they carve it right in front of you, or do you just order meats from a menu? Yes, the servers come around with the meats. There is a card on your table that you can flip for them to stop or pass. Your sides will be on the table, family style.
NMLady Posted February 1, 2011 #31 Share Posted February 1, 2011 I just got off the Sun on Saturday (1st cruise after dry dock).. pacific heights was open for breakfast and lunch.. but changed to the brazilian steak house for dinner. They had a waffle station one morning, and breakfast pizza station the next morning.. not sure about the other days. ALso.. for lunch they had a pasta station and panini station. They had a small buffet for both meals.. mostly for soups and sandwiches. It was very good! YAY!! I'm glad to know they're still using it that way for breakfast and lunch. It was always a quiet place to eat, away from the buffet zoo.
