Grand Cayman!

I will be sailing on the Conquest in March and I was wondering what is fun to do in Grand Cayman? I refuse to get in the water with all the sting rays so that is not an option for me (even though my husband as done that several times and says it is a lot of fun). On our last cruise we were going to do the Pirate Ship but due to weather we did not get to stop at Grand Cayman, and after doing more research we are not sure we want to try to do that again. Thanks for your help!!! :D

You really should give the stingrays a try. I was dead set against it too...but I LOVED it! It's really amazing.

 

You should check out the ports of call boards. You will get a lot of good info there. :)

Nativeway was great to us when we where in GC both times. We did the rays, reef and rum tour. We spent some time at the sand bar w/ the rays then moved on to snorkeling and topped it off w/ lunch and some nice quite time on Rum Point Beach. Many on our tour where also againist the water part but could still enjoy it from the boat and get great pics. Rum Point beach is great my second favorite place to visit on a cruise!

 

But I also think missing out on the rays is a silly mistake!

We hung out at Sea Grape beach for a few hours. Gorgeous beach!! Then we shopped for rum, rum cake, & antique coins from ship wrecks. I loved Grand Cayman!

I second NativeWay. I have gone twice and both times there were people along that never got off the boat at StingRay City. The boat ride is nice and Rum Point Beach is like something out of a movie set, just beautiful. It includes lunch and I suggest the catch of the day.

If not the rays, then I'd check out the suggestions for the beach. Although the turtle farm was much nicer than I expected, it was a "waste" in my opinion, but I'm not crazy about turtles. I like the rays though, and fish- LOL

I was against Stingray city at first too but loved it.

 

SEA GRAPE is a great beach to visit, plus there is always LOADS of shopping

I am on the conquest in April and I was told that if you want a nice quiet beach to snorkel go to cemetary beach. It has no facilities but was told it was amazing.

you definately want to be out on the water. nothing real special to see or do on the island itself, IMO. even if you book a sting ray excursion you don't have to get in the water with them.

Another vote for Nativeways Rays, Reef and Rumpoint - of course you don't have to interact with the stingrays if you don't want to - but the boat ride out is great, the snorkelling is fun and I can't say enuf about Rumpoint Beach - gorgeous!

I also agree that the sandbar is a must do. It is really neat experience that I would love to do again. With any luck our Belize stop might get rerouted :D
