jpinperth Posted January 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Hi fellow cruisers, With an upcoming cruise on Island Princess from LA to Lauderdale, I am trying to determine if proof of yellow fever vaccination is required. Princess haven't advised that it is, yet the CDC in Atlanta indicates that proof of vaccination is required to enter Aruba, when travelling from an area where yellow fever is present ie Panama and Colombia. If anyone has some clarification on this one, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks....JP
Layla Posted January 27, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Yellow fever shots are not required. The Panama Canal is not one of the areas where yellow fever is prevalent, nor is Cartegena, so no problem going to Aruba. It's wise to bring bug repellant though if you're going to go the rain forest. We bring the Off moist towelettes, they are very handy.
konatyme Posted January 27, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2011 jpinperth, We just did the same cruise in Dec. & no vaccinations were required. I took bug spray/towelettes with us on all our excursions & never saw a bug! Maybe it depends on the time of year--??
