SeaPass card/beverage package ?'s

My wife and I will be traveling with extended family on a Holiday Cruise 12/24/11. I'm wondering what amount they pre-authorize your credit card for (or how much cash deposit they require) for the seapass card, and if that is different if you purchase a beverage package ahaead of time.

 

OUr cruise is being paid for, but we still have to save up for the other things that go along with it and wanted to get an idea of how much we should prepare for.

 

Also, our then 15 month old will be along as well - will there be a deposit for him as well or is it by stateroom? (yes, I've already about all the pro/cons of bringing the yougin' so that need not be discussed here."

Thanks! Helps a bit - but still prretty unclear. It seems there is really not a clear policy on this - at least one that I could find.

I will say this. I had no pre auth on my credit card at all I never seen a thing until I was off the ship 3 days later. We both had pre purchased bev packages. I friend checked his and never seen a pre auth on his card either. he did not have drink package.
