harp67 Posted January 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2011 Its our first cruise on the Golden Princess and have booked a BD cabin. Are there any cabins that are better than others - for example quieter. So are the rooms near the stairs/elevators always noisy or is this a quiet deck? cherylandtk Posted January 28, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2011 BD cabins on the Golden are in the forward and aft sections of Baja deck. Generally speaking the further towards the ends you are, the less traffic going past your door and the quieter the area. These rooms all have other cabins above and below (Aloha and Caribe), so should not have any noise from public venues. Forward stairs and elevator banks usually do not cause any noise. Most people get on or off the elevator and that's it, they don't usually hang around the lobby and party. Do be aware that you could be upgraded unless you mark your booking no upgrade. That could or could not be to a more desirable location. There will be varying degrees of normal ship noise at times; thruster operations, anchor chains, etc. that you will hear from your room as well as varying amounts of motion depending on location and sea condition.
