Does anybody who has recently cruised on the Ecstasy know what the per minute rate is to use the cabin phone to call home?

Some friends of ours want to call home to check on kids, but don't want to add international calling to their cell phones.

If I remember correctly, it's $6.99 per minute

If they just want to call to check on the kids, its much cheaper to wait until they get into port...once there you can buy a cheap phone card.

I think they are trying to find the sweet spot that people will pay. We were on Legend in December and the cost was only .99 per minute. That was cheap enough for us, so we called home once. But it changes all the time and you won't know until you get onboard and see the very large price card next to the phone.

I don't think you have to have international plan to use cellular at sea and that's $2.49 for calls and .50 for texts......

 

Maybe if who ever they need to get in touch with has a computer, they could set up a thread on Funville and post and communicate that way.
