Rare richstowe Posted February 1, 2011 #76 Share Posted February 1, 2011 I haven't. We just booked 10 days ago for our honeymoon trip this October. We booked thru my fiancee's family friend who is a travel agent. She said she will be doing the rate checking for us. Good luck (but I would still check for myself) I check every day, even though it's too late for OBC. Isn't good to check. I booked a cruise a month out, then 2 days later it went down $100/PP! Was sick for days! Have read on CC that even after final payment date you may be able to upgrade to a higher cat cabin. So you will not get OBC or a rebate but still get a "better" cabin as stated below. If you cat is sold out, you can always keep watching the prices of cats higher than yours. If they ever go below your base price then you can get the upgrade for free. Also, as your cruise date gets closer, TAs may release blocks of rooms they had been holding and your cat could suddenly be available again, hopefully at a cheaper price so you can get OBC. I'm in the same situation. 9As aren't showing up anymore on my cruise, as there are very few (Premium Balc with obstructed view). I just hold out hope that I can at least see the 9Bs fall below my price and get some obc!! Good Luck! Why not change to a 9B ?
near the beach Posted February 2, 2011 #77 Share Posted February 2, 2011 We booked a cruise a while back. The only rate available was Fun Select. Earlier today I looked and Early Saver was available. I was able to change our reservation to Early Saver and got a $60 reduction in price.
tandemcruzr Posted February 2, 2011 #78 Share Posted February 2, 2011 For those that have booked at cruise already, how often do you check to see if the price has gone down to try and get OBC? I booked the 6/5/2011 on Legend and I find myself looking daily LOL Sometimes daily -- probably average 4 - 5 times a week.
Bosyn Posted February 15, 2011 Author #79 Share Posted February 15, 2011 So just kinda tracking my progress here. SO far I've saved $100 total for me and my GF's 6/5 Legend cruise due to checking fares :)
Pour-Tour-Snore Posted February 16, 2011 #80 Share Posted February 16, 2011 I check at least once a day, but usually twice. We booked our DD's in a balcony as past guest and me and DH booked a OS using ES two weeks ago. We already had a reduction on the 72 hour past guest reduction in the DD's cabin. Yet no change in ours. I will keep looking a hope by the time we sail in August to have some OBC for our cabin. Final payment not due until almost the end of May for the DD and we have until August if I understand correctly how this works.
bunchesofun Posted February 16, 2011 #81 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Because of this thread I just checked prices on our May 15 sailing and see that the price is $60 less than we booked it at. Will be calling my pvp as soon as she comes in. Thanks!
mouche Posted February 16, 2011 #82 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Hi, my name is Serena and I am an OBC-a-holic. I check daily.:o LOL!!! I can relate, I too am a OBC-a-holic:D I have a computer at my desk at work, so I check too many times to count. But hey we have $160.00 OBC for our cruise in May, and I already have had two price reductions for our Bermuda cruise in Oct.:D
