Hi there im new to this and will give a brief background: I am 25 and my bf and i are just starting to plan for our wedding we are thinking the Gem leaving out of NYC on Sept 4,with a few friends and family.

We are wondering if anyone has gotten married in bermuda already-what do we need to know beforehand? also is April to late to book? Anyone know of any good planners with packages already in Bermuda? We want simple, hasslefree low budget if anyone has any tips or anything it would be great!

Thanks! :D

I wouldn't do it if I were you. Especially during Hurricane season. Too many times the routes are changed because of Hurricanes in the area. Please rethink this.

That was my first thought also. September is usually very busy with hurricanes and I'd hate to see the OP dirverted to Canada or the Bahamas with her wedding waiting in Bermuda. Even October you would have a much better chance to actually get to Bermuda. JMHO.

My first thought was also the weather. Although re-routing is slim the chance is always there. Maybe you could plan a wedding onboard and if you get to Bermuda see if NCL will hold the ceremony right off the ship at the Moongate with the ship in the background. I don't even know if that would be possible but it's a thought. Have fun planning!!

First make sure it will be recognized by the state of NY. My DD got married on Princess at sea by Captain and was suppose to be recognized in all states as ship is Bermuda registry. When she went to change her drivers license was told her marriage was not valid! NY only recognized marriages in US virgin Islands. ( So, they got married by the mayor on the way to work ) The wedding Experience assured us it was legal. So check first.
