steffie Posted March 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2005 Just wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for this area? We stayed at the Oceanside Inn at Cocoa Beach before and that wasn't bad. Thanks for the help.
wwinfl91 Posted March 2, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2005 Some of the motels and hotels in that section of the coast are still recovering from the hurricane. Here are some links with information on places to stay and things to do in that area. http://www.cocoabeach.com/cruises.html http://cape-canaveral-hotels.onlinehotels.com/ http://www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g34145-Cocoa_Beach_Florida-Vacations.html Hope these help. Have a great next cruise.

vossjemi Posted March 3, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 3, 2005 Another good website is www.dcltribute.com. Although its a disney site, it has great links to air, rental car, restaurants, hotels, and other stores/info in the cape canaveral area.
TrentS Posted March 3, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 3, 2005 Just wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for this area? We stayed at the Oceanside Inn at Cocoa Beach before and that wasn't bad. Thanks for the help. Most people on here seem to stay at the Radisson and have been quite happy with it... http://www.radisson.com/capecanaveralfl
GradGirl Posted March 3, 2005 #6 Share Posted March 3, 2005 Yes, most people stay at the Radisson, we stayed at the Hilton which just re-opened. Loved it, would go back there for a vacation without a cruise!
vossjemi Posted March 3, 2005 #7 Share Posted March 3, 2005 We will be staying at Ron Jon's the night before. It has some awesome pools/waterslides, or so I've heard. We'll have our kids and parents with us so we're getting a 2brm unit. We got it for $216 using AAA, which isn't bad since it sleeps up to 8 people. They also have studios, 1 bdrms and 2brm deluxes. steffie Posted March 3, 2005 Author #8 Share Posted March 3, 2005 Thanks for all the responses. I have noticed alot of people stay at the Radisson. Are they on the beach? I really like having a balcony overlooking the water. Last time we got to see our ship come in from our room. That was fun! It looks like a nice place and people seem to be happy with it. Thanks again everyone!
vossjemi Posted March 3, 2005 #9 Share Posted March 3, 2005 No, Radisson is not on the beach. That is why I picked ron jon's. If you look at dave's website i mention above, it tells you which properties are on the beach and gives links to each properties website for more info and how far they all are from the pier and who has a shuttle, etc... laurasue Posted March 4, 2005 #10 Share Posted March 4, 2005 We're considering the Hilton as well, partially because of GradGirl's great review (it was recently overhauled because of the hurricanes and previous reviews were not glowing), partially because it's on the beach, and mostly because I found a rate for a room there that was $50 less/night than the lowest rate I could find for the Radisson. :) I thought I read that the Hilton has a shuttle but I don't think we'll use it. steffie Posted March 4, 2005 Author #11 Share Posted March 4, 2005 The Hilton sounded nice too! I do want to try and find something on the beach. I really do enjoy planning for cruises! =)
