upgrade cabin on ventura

They almost always have no cabins available "on the day" & if they do they want the full price, you never know of course. You can get upgraded if you indicated this when you booked, but these can often be unpopular cabins in less desirable locations. If you booked through a cruise specialist travel agent (which is best) ask them if they can advise.

hi thanks for your comment we booked direct with p & o do you think this is a bad idea

Not as bad idea at all if you are satisfied with the deal. You can ring P&O and request a price for an upgrade.

The ships usually sail full capacity so you won't have much chance upgrading onboard like a hotel.

Generally you get a better deal through a specialist cruise agent, what happens is P&O give them a big discount, part of which they pass on to you, this may be a reduced price or spending credits onboard or both. This actually applies to all holidays, probably a 10/15% discount.
