labraiser Posted February 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2011 Cruise was as I expected, good food, entertainment and Jamaica tour was great with peat Taylor. Grand Cayman was fun with stingrays. A bad part of the cruise was when the ship went dead in the water on emergency power for about 30-40 minutes early tues am about 430am.All the elevators were off, fire doors closed for over 1/2 the day too. The matter was handled badly by the crew not informing us early risers what was wrong. I trapped and engineer and he told me the lost the main generator and had to shut down the main engine. It was later explained 4 hrs later by the captain of a cooling leak problem in the main generator. A lot of passengers were upset and scared of being like the carnival incident. the ship was just off of the southern cuban coast at the time. labraiser Posted February 11, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted February 11, 2011 I'm sure it's fixed. We had no more problems after we got back underway. Everything was back to normal by 3pm. Just unnerving to say the least.
