Texas Posted February 11, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2011 We will be on MR cruise in mid-march. Which port would be the "best chance" of seeing whales this late in the season - Cabo or PV? Appreciate your feedback.
Arizona cruisers Posted February 12, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2011 In my opinion, it is Cabo. We have seen whales from the ship in mid-March each time we have been in the area. Last year our room steward told us at exactly what time we would see whales as we were cruising past Cabo (on our way back from Ixtapa/Z) and we did at that exact moment! Had a blast watching them frolicking in the ocean. We are on the March 13th Splendor this year with a stop in Cabo. We have booked a whale watch through Pez Gato as this time we want to be up close and personal with the whales, not just watching from the ship. I know that this is wishful thinking in mid-March, but I am confident it will happen!
Texas Posted February 13, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted February 13, 2011 Thanks. We are also going to sign up with Pez Gato, we will be in Cabo on March 10. Hopefully, we will both be able to see the whales up close.
rburk Posted February 16, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Saw whales in both PV and Cabo in December and hopefully will do the same in February.
