FLL: favorite pre and post cruise hotel?

Still trying to decide upon hotel(s) for our 1-night pre-cruise in mid-March, and 1-night following the cruise. They don't have to be the same hotel. We will arrive in FLL at about 7:30 PM, so we won't have much time to wander and enjoy the area. The hotel amenities (airport pick up, transport to the port) and location (close to a decent restaurant and a wine shop) are more important for that first night. I've been considering Hyatt Place North, but would like other recommendations as well.

 

After the cruise we'll have most of the day and evening to have some fun on the beach. Any recommendations from all of you experienced cruisers out of FLL?

Without a doubt, post cruise, Lago Mar. The prettiest beach and resort in Fort Lauderdale.
