Wow. This is the first time I've seen the price breakdown on bottles of liquor. Most of those are at least double what the cost is for Carnival, just so people are aware. Even if smuggled alcohol was confiscated at least you aren't paying 200%.

Cheaper than paying per drink at the bar though. You can smuggle but what if they confiscate it? You just threw away that money you paid for it, and then your going to be ordering drinks at the bar. It is what it is when it comes to cruising, and I think BV is a good option, even though prices are way high.

Did anyone expect that Carnival would sell bottles of alcohol at bargain prices? A large part of what keeps the cruise fares low is the money that they make on alcohol. They make more at the bars than they do with these bottles.

Compared to bar prices a 1 liter bottle from Bon Voyage will make 22 drinks at $1.81 each (let's day for Absolute vodka). A LOT cheaper than bar prices...

I was very reluctant to buy from Bon Voyage instead of smuggling but it wasn't worth the worrying that it might be confiscated.

A pricier bottle in the hand is worth more than a bargain bottle confiscated or discarded.

I agree.....I ordered a bottle of CC for my hubby for our last cruise and we ended up having the cheapest bill on our S & S card at the end of the week we had ever had on a cruise. The bottle does cost more, but still way cheaper than buying per drink at the bar.

The bottle was twice the size of what he normally gets a the ABC store. He actually had some left, so we brought it home.
