April 2010 we had a really great day in Freeport. We booked the Garden of the Groves tour & shopping through the ship. The trip to the Gardens was in an air conditioned shuttle bus & they did a little tour of the city. The Gardens were gorgeous, not too hot with plenty of shade. Our tour guide at the Garden gave us a history lesson on the Caribbean & Bahamas, beginning before Christopher Columbus. Even our 8 year old daughter had a great time. We ate there at the Gardens & the food was decent. I wish we'd waited until we got to Port Lucaya to eat though. We had plenty of time to tour the straw market & a few shops. I also wish we'd walk across the street to the beach for even a few minutes. I'd recommend this excursion to anyone.
