Elusive_Cruiser Posted February 20, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2011 We are booked with a C1 aft cabin on the Equinox. It is on Deck 11 (Penthouse Deck Cabin #1676). We booked the C1 aft cabin while onboard our last cruise but have now decided that we may prefer a port side C2 top deck cabin. Having not yet experienced an aft cabin, are there some opinions on this? I have heard/seen comments about soot on aft cabins. We are also concerned we may not get sun on our verandah? Appreciate any feedback!!
Gonzo70 Posted February 20, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2011 On M-Class ships the aft staterooms are wildly popular as their balconies or HUGE. However on S-Class ships the balconies are normal to slightly larger than normal and S-Class ship aft balconies do sometimes receive soot (depends on which way the wind is blowing). As such, most prefer an stateroom on the port or starboard that is on the angled portion of the hump on S-Class ships as these have nice location (near elevators/stairs) as well as the largest balconies for non-suites. kentlady Posted February 20, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2011 We had the cabin next door 1678 on our cruise in November last year and our Daughter and family were in an aft about 4 cabins down. Neither of us had any problems with soot for the duration of the cruise. We loved the cabin so much we are in the same one on the Equinox in June and again next March.
