Flying into NOLA which hotel to stay at?

Hi, does anyone have a suggestion on where to stay in NOLA. I'm going to be flying in and would like something that had a shuttle from airport to hotel, or hotel to Port.

If you want to stay in the french qtr, few of them will have a airport shuttle, but many will have one to the port.

 

personally, Id pick a good hotel on hotwire or lastminutetravel. Some bargains out there. The suggestions in this section ...many of them are for people who need to park a car, which you dont, so you can stay at any discounted hote.

 

PS hotwire will show amenties so you can see if a shuttle is included.

The cheapest hotel we found downtown was La Quinta Inn and Suites...1 block from street car and couple of blocks to French Quarter...1 mile to cruise terminal on Erato st. Paid $200 for 2 nights and it had good reviews on Trip Advisor. I have noticed the price went up a bit though since I booked.
