Back2Back Freedom Question?

We are considering giving Carnival another try after a really bad experience on the Fantasy in '07. Everything and everyone changes. We have been on Princess twice since then, NCL once, and RCCL once. The trip we are considering is the 6+8 on the Freedom that visits the easter caribbean for 8 days and the western for 6.

Does anyone have any experience on this particular back to back? How does CCL handle the homeport day in the middle of the cruise? We had a very nice trip booked but my company changed my plans and we are looking for something special for our 25th anniversary. Any cabin suggestions without price considerations? Finally, does CCL offer anniversary packages like Princess? Thank you so much for your help. My DW usually does all of the posting, but I thought I'd give it a try.

I did that B2B 2 years ago and absolutely loved it. The ports are great, and I like the ship. The day that people get off after week 1 is pretty painless. You need to meet in the Atrium lobby at around 9am. They escort you off the ship to clear customs and you re-board right away. It only takes approximately 30minutes or so.

For doing a B2B, I got a fruit basket from the Hotel Director. I thought that it was a nice gesture.

doitallWMB,

Great idea!

Choose an aft wrap on either deck six or eight. Deck six is sometimes reserved for thee passengers so deck would be better. Depending on how far out your anniversary is, these rooms might not be available because they sell out first.

On the night before your first cruise ends you will receive instructions about where to meet and what time. Once there you will be escorted off the ship to ICE then back on by a Pursor. You will need to complete the customs form just as if your cruise is ending. After you are back on board you will have the ship to yourself for a couple of hours before the next weeks passengers begin boarding. Make sure you have some food in your room to snack on because there's nothing open nor available until the next passengers board. :o Can you tell we made the mistake of not eating breakfast once?

The longest trip we have been on is the NCL Jewel for 9 days to the southern Caribbean. We were on the Glory for 7 days back in 2006 and it was the most fun. The colors were extreme on that ship. How are the colors on the Freedom? Anything like the Glory? Also, how difficult is a lounger to obtain in the afternoon during sea days? Does the big tv screen at the pool detract from the experience? We always liked Carnival's poolside bands.

we did the B2B in 2008. We renewed our weddin vos on the 1st leg. we had the same cabin 9270. It was so great not to pack on last day of 1st half. We usually go to bed early on last night of cruise to rest for the drive home. I closed the casino down on the last night of 1st half. easy transcition off and back on maybe 20-30 min time.

DH and myself just did a b2b on the Freedom in January. It was wonderful. Different ports and lots of r and r. The crew of the Freedom were awesome. Tell them Hi from Pink SPike Karen and Santa. They will know us-- trust me. We had so so so much fun. Use the Posh Dining and tell Goran to treat you right or I will put him on the bad list. I love him. Best MaterD next to Miguel lol

We were in 9229. Just a balcony but great location. Not much traffic and very convenient to food on lido and pool for sun and activities. Easy to get to main theater just down some steps. At the front of the hall way is the door to a secret place not many people hang out at. The Serenity is just up on 12 and 14. Close too.

The room stewards we had were totally grand as Jana spoiled me so much I love her I want to take her home with me.

We got a gift also from the Hotel Director --fruit and champaign.

Just booked our nxt b2b in Jan but out of New Orleans only because we can drive there this time. This past Jan we had to fly so it didn't matter the distance. Loved Key West the best. Been cruising for several years and right now leery of Mexico and had been through the Canal so we did a lot of ship time. Serenity is wonderful when everyone else in port,

Book-- you will never regret it. Make it a time to remember-- don't sweat the small stuff. Most of the complaints are small stuff. Life is too short to be stressed---- choose Carnival and have FUN FUN FUN
