Stinky Taters Posted March 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2005 Is there a faster way to get from the St Thomas port, to St John w/o taking the taxi/jitty from port to the other side of St Thomas, then the ferry to St. John, then a jitty (sp?) to Cinammon Bay? Thank you for any help.
The Islander Posted March 5, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2005 If you are wanting to do the trip on your own then no there isn't. You can only get to St. John by ferry, boat... and the majority of them leave from Red Hook. There is a Charlotte Amalie ferry, however when you add the shorter taxi ride and the longer ferry ride it works out about the same timewise as taking a longer taxi ride to Red Hook and the shorter ferry from there. Some cruise ships offer excursions to St. John with pick up at the cruise ship pier... so you would avoid at least one taxi ride. Not sure that method is that much quicker though as I have heard some folks that go over on their own comment that they got to the beach prior to the tours arriving. --Islander *****
