WaileaKid Posted February 23, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2011 I am planning to book a cruise in May to mexican riviera. Since that is considred to be an off or low season, I was wonderng if I should book right away or wait for the prices to fall further as it gets closer to the departure date. What is the general guideline here? Is it too early to book for a late may departure? Thanks
westcruzer Posted February 23, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2011 I may be wrong but to my knowledge May is not the offseason. The peak season starts in April and goes through summer. The prices kinda show when the peak season is. Now if you are thinking Oct Nov Dec Jan that's when it's a lower cost.
firefly333 Posted February 23, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2011 May is not really off season. Off season is fall during hurricane season or winter, January especially when its coolish. Since you have not yet booked, I would look for a pack n go last minute rate that comes out on Wednesday. Here are some prices which can be booked at midnight tonight. Carnival Paradise 3 LAX 3/4/11 Ensenada $229 $269 N/A Carnival Paradise 3 LAX 4/1/11 Ensenada $249 $279 N/A Carnival Paradise 4 LAX 3/21/11 Catalina & Ensenada $299 $329 N/A Carnival Spirit 9 SDG 3/11/11 Mexican Riviera N/A N/A $699 Based on these dates, Id say you have about another month to wait before May goes on last minute sale.
