DGA Posted February 26, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2011 Has any one sailed back from Caribbean to England? We are thinking of booking a balcony cabin on P&O Ventura and would like to take advantage of any afternoon sun during the many days at sea. Having worked out which balconies have obstructed views or are in partial shade I am unsure whether to go for a port or starboard cabin. Can anyone help? sodafountain Posted February 27, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2011 The sun rises in the east, goes through south (in the northern hemispere), and sets in the west. If sailing from Caribbean to UK, the boat will be sailing west to east, so in theory, the sun will rise in the front, travel round the right hand side of the ship, and set behind it. capasamari Posted February 27, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2011 Yes, you need starboard, and I would go for C-Deck as these balconies are twice the size of the others. Carol x
