Cabbage vs. Cable

Despite reading as much as I can about these beaches I am still getting very mixed messages. We are looking for a nice beach with calm waters (no undertow!). Hoping somebody with experience can advise! We will be taking our 10 month old son and want to make sure we are comfortable.

Cabbage Beach is rough waters, cable beach is not.

Try a day pass at either the Hilton or Sheraton.

There's a ton of info about each on this webstie.

Cable can be pretty rough! But no matter where you choose keep a strong eye on the little one. And whatever you decide just be sure to Have Fun!!!

Hilton is always calm, it's on the harbour.

Sheraton has access to the lagoon at Wyndham.. which is always calm as well.

Both have life guards, which is imperative when you have little ones.

I don't recomment the public beaches along Cable Beach, they can have rip tides, current and other issues.. and no security or life guards to help.

I recently read that the erosion is so bad right now at Cabbage Beach that it is not recommended. I've also heard that the vendors can be very annoying at Cable. Any feedback?

Cabbage Beach was closed all last week due to erosion, things aren't any better this week.. (this lasted months last year, nature has to repair itself).

Vendors are annoying everywhere.. Less so on Hotel beaches.
