"Six on the Beach"

About 10 years ago I cruised to St. Maarten and when we got off the ship and took a left down the street, we went to a beach on the left. At that time, it was called "Six on the Beach"& cost $6.00. Does anyone know if you can still access the beach there & is this the polluted area I'm hearing about? Not sure where to go w/two 12y/o & an 8y/o. Was really excited to go back to St. Maarten, and now I'm a little nervous on where to go. Suggestions on what to do (w/kids? :p)
