jdfloyd Posted April 26, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2004 What area do you bid on? Has anyone done this? If so what were the results? Trying to book a room for June to sail on Carnival's Ecstasy. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Joe and Dianna SENSATION 5/5-5/12 2002 S/S NORWAY 5/18-5/25 2003 Paradise 7/27-8/3 2003
KruisingKaren Posted April 28, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2004 The ONLY place you'll want to bid on is what they call the "Long Beach area". This is by the Queen Mary and a small but lively port of call complex with restaurants, shopping etc. The other areas shown on Priceline are more industrial and not suitable for leisure travel. You'll need to take a taxi to the port, but it's your best option.

jnc411 Posted May 24, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2004 Just a little advice from someone who lives in the area. Be very careful where you book in Long Beach, some areas are very nice , others not at all, not just industrial but run down and not safe. So the area previouly discussed righ near the Queen Mary ok near Seaport Village ok, but some parts of Downtown no... Like all large cities we have good and bad areas. Want your stay to be enjoyable here in Southern California. Don't forget we have Disneyland near here (down the freeway) Knotts Berry Farm (down the freeway), the Aquarium of the Pacific (right near the cruise port,) alot to see and enjoy. have a great cruise.
