tuggers Posted April 22, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2004 Just arrived home. Sickness was not a problem. I know that had been a concern after some of the postings we had seen prior to sailing. We actually had two parties given by Celebrity for our group. Larry and Art told me there were 51 people in our second photo! We had a great group and we had lots of fun meeting up around the ship (yeah, the Martini Bar!). Only bummer was that I got the full going over by customs this trip. I guess because I had just gotten back from the Horizon1a month ago I sent up flags. When he asked me if we went to Jamaaica and I said no he then wanted to know if I had more than $10,000 with me. I said, 1uh, no! And he asked me again. I think they thought if I hadn't got to Ocho Rios to buy drugs I should still have the money!!! Thought for a minute I was going to get the strip search! More later, but if you hear from Roger and Lydia ask them 'Who's your Daddy'! LOL Until the Zenith! Second X Cruise In Two Months!
hisfirstm8 Posted April 22, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2004 Tuggers, Yes, it was a great cruise! Loved the Martini bar........Glad that we weren't in line behind you. jpinct Posted April 22, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 22, 2004 I'm sure the beads of sweat were marching, ever so slightly down your face at Customs. Glad to hear your trip was so fantastic. I'm heading to Bermuda in July on the Zenith and am booked in a CC cabin. Did either of you travel in CC?
tuggers Posted April 23, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted April 23, 2004 They still were not doing CC (I was in 1080 which would have been CC) but I heard that there were going to be corporate people on this deadhead to NY to do training and that some of the classes they would have concerned CC. So they are getting geared up for it. I'm curious myself to see if I will like it. My first booking CC is on the Horizon 1/10/05. Until the Zenith! Second X Cruise In Two Months! ibeejd Posted April 23, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 23, 2004 tugger Im traveling May 8th on the Zenith in room 1080..and it will be the CC by then. Ill let you know how it is. I have a question about my room. Did it have a convertible sofa or chairs and a table??? And was it a solid double bed or two bed pushed together?? Thanks! Any pointers for the Martini bar?? tuggers Posted April 23, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted April 23, 2004 Room 1080 has a double bed (non-convertible) and a loveseat. There is also a pull down bed on the wall by the foot of the bed. I liked the room because there is a deck very close by on the aft with lounge chairs for sun. I didn't like the room because it is so far aft that you walk a mile to get to the Martini Bar!! My favorites this trip were Goose Kiss, Limon and Delight. Have fun! I sure did! Any other questions let me know. BTW the mattress had springs you could feel and I asked if they could turn it, but I think they brought in a new one. It was very comfortable after that. Until the Zenith! ibeejd Posted April 23, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 23, 2004 Well thanks for getting us a new mattress...you are the best They had no idea what they were doing placing us so far from the martini bar...guess they never looked at any past cruise "ta" first... Thanks for the Martini hints...Ill write them down on my trusty "cruise critic notes" that will be traveling with the suitcase. Oh did you visit the casino? If so how is it? Im traveling with 3 people who looooove to gamble and they keep wondering how much they need to take.... tuggers Posted April 24, 2004 Author #8 Share Posted April 24, 2004 The casino mostly took my donations! I heard of a few people making small wins but nothing big. They are doing the slot tournaments different now. They take 7 high scores from every toutnament and keep the top 7 on the board, then they don't do final final til the last sea day so only one pot to win. Kinda cheap - they've always had a final winner on each days tournament. Until the Zenith! Second X Cruise In Two Months!
Cindy G Posted April 24, 2004 #9 Share Posted April 24, 2004 If playing slots...play the first day. The machines are "loose." Rumor has it that they want people to win at the beginning of the cruise, generate excitement amongst the passengers, and give them time to "give it all back." One guy at our table hit for several hundred dollars on the first night....by the end of the 11 days, sure enough, the casino had it all back and more. The blackjack dealers were "tough" from the comment I heard onboard.
larry_s_taco Posted April 24, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 24, 2004 Hi everyone, For those of you going, get ready for a great cruise. We too also only heard rumors of "the illness." We heard there were three passengers ill with GI stuff. I would imagine there would be that many on any cruise. My recommendation is use the hand sanitizers provided and wash your hands frequently in between just as a precaution. We were in 1008. It was a nice roomy cabin. If anyone has any questions about the butler service: I would just tell them to forget it next time. They really do nothing more than the cabin attendant. To all of you Jax Pax'ers out there, we had a ball. Can't wait to meet up again. Cindy G Posted April 24, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 24, 2004 And how was Taco when you got home? I was greated with wimpers of excitement and lots of Labrador kisses. My puppies were so happy so see me, and my oldest one pouted. It was good to get back. The next day, the doggies were back to normal.

tuggers Posted April 24, 2004 Author #13 Share Posted April 24, 2004 Aren't you lucky, Cindy and John! I'm still getting somewhat of a cold shoulder from the cat (Books). ibeejd Posted April 24, 2004 #14 Share Posted April 24, 2004 Our cats have already figured out we are going somewhere and sleep on the suitcases to provide the full guilt trip treatment. Thanks for the casino info everyone....I will keep in mind about the "loose" slots....and tournaments....I dont gamble so I will have to give the martini bar my money while the others toss it overboard...I mean gamble in the casino Sounds like everyone had a great trip on your boat..... and who needs a butler when you have a husband?? He is better then anyone I could ask for ....butler duty with "side action"... larry_s_taco Posted April 24, 2004 #15 Share Posted April 24, 2004 Cindy, Taco was happy when we hit the door. Then I think he figured he better let us know how he really felt and gave us a cold shoulder for awhile. He was back to normal on Sat. brigittetom Posted April 25, 2004 #17 Share Posted April 25, 2004 Welcome back. I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise so much. My husband always plays bj and the Zenith was the first time he just couldn't win. The tables actually were pretty empty twards the end of the cruise. I guess the dealers are still having their lucky streak. Zenith from Jacksonville Feb. 13

hisfirstm8 Posted April 26, 2004 #19 Share Posted April 26, 2004 Hi everyone, We didn't do too well in the casino either, but David (Dave & Jean) won over $300 the last night in the quarter slots, playing one quarter at a time. It was great!!! Our dogs have forgiven us also. When we went to the store on Friday, we bought them some doggie ice cream treats, and are now forgiven. It was great meeting everyone in the Jax Pax. Hope to see you again on a future cruise!!! Barb and Mike God Bless the USA and those who are fighting for freedom! Ships R Great Posted April 26, 2004 #20 Share Posted April 26, 2004 Hi, everyone. We just got back to VA this afternoon. Wasn't it a great cruise? JaxPax rules!!!!!!!! I had my first real experience at the crap table this cruise. Met Cliff there every so often. Did squat for a few nights, then hit for a $300 profit on the second formal night. Downhill after that but we came out about $200 ahead overall at the table. The slots, for me, were a different story, but Ed hit pretty well the last two nights at the $1 slots. We look upon it as recreation. I played the crap table three hours one night and came out $5 ahead! As always, the people made it a great cruise. Hope we can cross paths again before too long. No pets to greet us but our two-year old granddaughter was glad to see us. We didn't get the cold shoulder from her! <marquee width = 45%> Century Nov/00---Norway June/01---Monarch Oct/01---Grandeur Nov/01---Mercury May/02---Horizon Feb/03---Century July/03---Zenith Nov/03---Zenith Apr/04---Constellation Sept/04</marquee>

Cindy G Posted April 29, 2004 #22 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Hey Jax-Paxers!!! Interesting info on a post that I created this AM. Seems some cruises or people get credits for missed ports....remember Ocho Rios? One couple at our table got $100.00 with no explanation. Could that be the reason?
tuggers Posted April 29, 2004 Author #23 Share Posted April 29, 2004 On another post today where the Horizon missed St Maartin they also got a $100 credit. I only got 2 free drinks of the day. I'd say they got off easy with me! Until the Zenith! Second X Cruise In Two Months!
Cindy G Posted April 29, 2004 #24 Share Posted April 29, 2004 I agree two "well drinks" does not equal $100.00. Do we want to do something in mass? Also, does anyone really know how this works??
