Transportation

I have a group comming in to FLL day before the cruise and are staying at asouthbeach hotel. am I better off renting a car and droping off at port of Miami than taking a limo. Do rental companies have a drop off location at the port?

I believe one (AVIS?) has a drop-off at the Port of Miami, but would advise you to double check just to be sure. If your rental car company does not, you could drop it off at their location at Miami airport and catch one of the rental car shuttle buses to the pier. However, it might be cheaper and more convenient to arrange for transportation from FLL to your hotel and from the hotel to the ship the following morning and you might also be able to arrange with them to be waiting for you and your group after the cruise to take you back to the airport.

NO, NONE of the rental car companies have locations at the Port of Miami any longer... SOME will however shuttle you from the airport location to the port, and back if you're picking up a car when you return from a cruise.

We flew into FLL and stayed in South Beach for 2 days. We were picked up from the airport by A1 Limos. We got a stretch limo to transport us to south beach. You don't need a car. You have to pay for parking at the hotel and if you drive anywhere you have to pay again. Our cab ride to the pier was 20 bucks from south beach.

We saved 150 by not renting a car and driven there in style.
