Oasis of the Seas MTD Experience

Recommended Posts

This was our l3th cruise and all have been on RCCL and we have always done the traditional 6:00 dinner in the past. So this time I opted for MTD and I refused to make reservations for my wife and I, for I feel MTD should just be that. So last Saturday night, which would be the first night, we reported to Deck #5 where MTD is located in the non-reservation line and after l0-l5 minutes or so wait we were escorted off to a table for two and had a wonderful waiter, bus-staff and bartender who couldn't do enough for us. We at that time felt we made the correct choice. On the following two nights around 7:00 we showed up again to the designated 5th floor and the hostess then found a table for us on the 4th floor and then the 3rd floor, on each of the nights we had to walk down the stairs to the different dining rooms with the host leading the way, I might add here now you would be in the MDR with all the traditional persons whose orders had already been taken and now we show up and the waiter, bus-person and bartender have to deal with us. To summarize these events the service/friendliness were terrible and we felt like outcasts. I also might add here that even if you had reservations those persons were also paraded the same way to the same dining rooms. Night number4 we just went to Giovanni's Table so as not to put up with MTD and we were able to sit outside and had a wonderful waiter and dinner. Night number 5, 6 and 7 we went back to MTD and I whispered to the Hostess about how we felt about the other locations and we wanted Deck #5 only, we are not trouble makers and we would wait for however long; within l0-l5 minutes we were seated and had great service/food. We still would do MTD in the future and again not make reservations. Also the lines for the reservation person were sometimes longer than the non-reservation persons.
