Will MiFi 2200 Mobile Hotspot or Virgin Mobile's Broadband2Go work on the ship in SE Alaska? Will there be roaming charges?

It may work. It will also cost you a minimum of $2.49 per minute. You are connecting through the ship towers, NOT through a direct Virgin (or partner) connection. Any connection on the ship via cell phone, wifi, etc. etc. will cost you additional dollars, billed directly from the ship's provider (WMS-Cellular at Sea) to your wireless provider.
