boohicks Posted March 7, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2011 I have gotten 2 quotes from insuremytrip.com. First one is $202 but $217 as it increased $100,000 for med evac. Is this the norm? Thanks!
cherylandtk Posted March 7, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2011 What is the total cost of the trip being covered? A difference of $12 between two plans is minor, assuming the plans cover similar things. $100,000 evac is better than $25,000 or $50,000 and should cover most evacs. Does your coverage in both plans go to the nearest hospital, nearest US hospital or the hospital of your choice? You have to read the fine print of the actual Description of Coverage, not just the chart on insuremytrip to find out what each policy covers, omits, and defines. boohicks Posted March 7, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted March 7, 2011 Total trip is about $5000. Yep the first one covers 50,000 evac and second 100,000 evac. Thanks for clarifying, I will read the smaller print. Didn't think of these things! Thanks so much!

Premiums are based on the per person trip cost and the travelers' ages.Without that info there's no way to tell if your premium is high or low. But if you entered the information correctly into insuremytrip's quote form then the results will be correct for the plans they feature.
