Paradise Cove/Gold Rock Beach

We are going to Freeport for the very first time in April and would like to go 2 places but do not know if it is possible because they look to be far apart from each other. Has anyone ever gone to Paradise Cove to Snorkle and then to Gold Rock Beach on the same day? If it is possible how do you do it? Taxi, Bus, or other means. Any details would be greatly appreciated There are 4 of us and thanks in advance for any help you can give us.

We're actually going to Gold Rock the last week of March. From what I hear (getting diff stories), it's a little less than an hour to get there (from ship port). We've hired a driver to take us. She'll stop at the store so we can get adult beverages and ice for the cooler! $120 all together (I'm sure we'll tip too) Kinda pricey but I'm dying to see this place and we don't want to be on an excursions schedule. Hope this gives you an idea. Sorry can't totally answer your question:o

Paradise Cove is a beautiful beach with a great snorkel-to reef. We were just there last week. Highly recommended, but be prepared with insect repellent in the morning or the no-see-ums will get you. That location is best when the tide is high. Gold Rock best when it is low. Maybe look at the tide chart here http://www.mobilegeographics.com:81/locations/2033.html

and decide which place to go based on the tide. If you scroll down on that page, you can put in the date you will be there and see when the tide will be high/low.

Have fun planning!

There are fairly nice restroom facilities there, as well as good food and drinks, and a small gift shop. We were there last week on an arranged beach snorkel tour, but there were people there who just stopped by for the day. I don't think there is a "cover charge" just to be there. They ask for $3 each for a beach chair. Food is reasonably priced and good. Not sure how much it costs just for the snorkel equipment alone, if you drive there. We paid $35 per person for transport and use of the equipment all day. I imagine you could just show up there with your own equipment and have a great time at the reef. But you will want to order some food and drinks. It was very good.
