ladyruby Posted March 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2011 hi are these balconys under cover? or over looked from above? also compared to other decks are these a generous size thanks
Saruman Posted March 10, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2011 Yes, they are covered. They are smaller than Caribe level and lower, with room for two chairs and a small table, but not the lounger length chair. We find them room enough. Don't plan on hosting parties out there, although if traveling with another couple or family, you can usually open the connecting door to the balcony of the cabin next door. As to being 'overlooked', they are more private than those below. But keep in mind that ALL balconies are overlooked by the extensions of the bridge, on either side. The only true privacy is INSIDE your cabin!;)

Some are more covered than others, some have the pool deck above them others have another deck of cabins.

Pam in CA Posted March 10, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2011 emerald , we have 2 rooms next to each other so we could open them?Yes, they are covered, and as long as the cabins are in the same number sequence, you can have the door between the balconies opened. Cabins where the numbering changes, i.e., from the 400's to the 500's, cannot be opened.
tmitchell82 Posted March 10, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 10, 2011 emerald , we have 2 rooms next to each other so we could open them? You will also have the Riviera deck above which are cabins, so no worries about people walking around, moving chairs from the deck above. NJRonbo Posted March 10, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 10, 2011 Just did an upgrade from an obstructed outside to a balcony on the Aloha Deck (A238-239). It's very much towards the front of the ship. Hope that the location poses no problems other than the long walk to the buffet. However, we are just below Sanctuary and the adult pool which is nice. That was exactly the upgrade I did last time (different ship and room) so glad for doing it. Great room. As far as privacy, besides the bridge, those in the Carib and lower can look up and see you. As can birds flying by.
