Got the review up and -- duh!!!

Recommended Posts

Finally submitted my Oasis review of the 2/26 sailing up on the members review section of the website, and despite five days of carefully crafting it (what--you expected me to actually work when I got back from vacation?) no sooner had it posted than all I could think of were things I left out -- like:

1. Yes, you absolutely will need a power strip, not so much because there weren't enough outlets, but because they are in very awkward places.

2. Don't let anyone tell you that you won't feel the ship moving. We certainly did (not in an unpleasant way) enough so that it took me four days before I stopped feeling that phantom movement once we got home.

3. Contrary to reports I had read, I thought the internet cafe really was adequate to the passenger load; maybe it's because you supposedly can access the internet from your tv in your stateroom (though we really never could get that to work properly) but I never had to wait more than a couple of minutes to access a terminal.

4. If you have access to it, of course, the best place to access the internet is in the Conciege Lounge, which has three or four terminals and is never busy.

5. Think really carefully about how much you are going to use the internet before you buy a package. We bought a significant one, and it really turned out to be a waste of money, as we used far fewer minutes than we thought we would

6. True, the smoking side of the casino is very smoky indeed, but it's surprising how well the division works -- the non-smoking side wasn't smoke free, but it was much, much more tolerable.

7. If you're a frequent slot player, make sure you insert your room key in the machine while playing. For every 250 points you accumulate, you get $5.00 back from the cashier (and if you're like most of us, you'll need it).

Whew, feel better now. For the rest of the review, check out the member review section (once I got to six pages, I realized it was just going to be too wordy to post here).
