mclinns04 Posted March 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2011 We got back from the Bahamas/Key West cruise on Conquest about a week ago. We were in a fully accessible Ocean Suite which was wonderful for us, but might not be for some others. One thing we discovered is that it is the largest stateroom on the ship--even larger that the Grand Suites. It is 450 sq. ft. with a 110 sq. ft. balcony. There is more that enough room turn a scooter in most area, including the large bathroom (which actually has a double sink, a bidet and a jacuzzi tub!) and the separate dressing room. It has a LOT of storage space. There are 3 electrical outlets. Our steward had an extension cord ready for us to connect our CPAP machines to the nearest one. The balcony door is ramped. There is a couch that makes into a bed. Since I am able to walk a little with crutches the room was heaven for us, but had definite drawbacks for someone confined to a wheelchair. There is no roll-in shower. The tub has a shower with multiple grab bars, but you would have to be able to stand or sit on the edge. It doesn't have a shower curtain, but there is a drain strip nest to the tub and I really didn't have a problem. The spaces between the bed and the wall are too narrow to accommodate a wheelchair, although there is plenty of room at the foot of the bed and by the couch. The balcony is long enough for 2 chairs, a table and a chaise lounge, but no deeper that the other balconies, so maneuvering a chair around wound be very difficult. I hope this helps anyone who is trying to decide on a room. By the way, all 3 port areas are accessible.
